Shongum Lake

Inlet Filter Program Twenty inlet filters are currently installed in storm drains along the portion of Radke Road nearest to Hanover to catch sediment and other debris and keep them from getting into the lake. The filters were assessed and cleaned by Randolph Department of Public Works (DPW) in Spring 2022. New filters and replacement bags have been ordered and will be installed by Randolph DPW to replace some of those in poor condition and all of those missing their bags.

Beach Erosion Project The first phase of a project to control beach erosion was completed May 2022. C&P Masons constructed a tiered wall in front of the guard shack. The next phase is expected to happen in Spring 2023.
